Intersection House Design Report

The classical integration of architectural space and spatial experience is collapsing and the traditionally definitive space to realize time and space is not holding no more value.
Therefore, the stereotyped interpretation of behaviors that occur there, the concept of realizing the eternity and the conventional spatial value are collapsing. Instead, it has to do with the temporary visibility, changing fluidity, immateriality, simultaneously and overlap in the occurrence of image, and getting away from the conventional spatial character and value of realization from the perspective of shape. So, it derived the concept of creative design for the children's room from the polarization of the interest and disinterest in the shape that takes, and the mutual permeability between both internal and external space that comes from the ambiguous border, and the expanding space with uniform and equal value. In addition, I try to present a new concept of house. What is important is not the shape of house but the space that it contains. The relation between the contents of the external space, which brings the unique front and rear court and the sequence at the entering space in harmony, and the internal space that defines the contents of internal space and internal space itself is essential for designing houses. A creative interior space will be derived within such architectural structure, depending on the growth of children.

Intersection House Design Description

The connection of space within a house has to be made not on the basis of area but line. The linear structure of space gives flexibility to the space and can respond to various conditions of land. Moreover, the linear structure gives the change to the line of view and time, making it possible to have a dynamic experience of space.
The mass of house has to be segmented for connection. The linear structure of space requires the house to be segmented in a way that divides the lump of house to make it lose balance. The segmenting of house means to divide the mass of house into smaller unit and link through the space and is a common way of structuring the space for our traditional houses.
It makes large and small court. What can come out of the linear structure is various external space. If the lump of house is segmented into various lumps and placed on the land which is not broader, the structure would take a shape that surrounds the land. As a result, the space would be structured in a introvert way with the court in the middle of the house. The external space which is placed at the center of house is also the internal space surrounded by the house though it is an external space. This in-between space is an affordable space derived from the combination of shapes, which naturally allows the internal space near it to contain the landscape in various directions. This diversity of landscape will give visual abundance of internal space.
