A HOUSE for CHILDREN , PETS and PLANTS

Unlike other biuldings the outer appearance of this building is fascinating and chalenging for children. The dramatic image of the elevation -made of pets and plants inside glass cubicles and colored sliding modules- resemble a childhood fairy tale or little hanging garden of Babylon.

There are six different modules designed For each apartment:

Glass cubicle modules:

1) pet module
2) Plant module

Inside modules:

3) a yellow one called study module which has room and shelf for the books and a rotary
    desk to study.
4) a green one called storage module which is a big wardrobe for clothes, shoes, sport stuff &
    other personal things.
5) a violet one called digital module with a computer set for digital activities.
6) a red one called wet module for kitchen and services.

It is like a game that children play.Sliding colored modules which belong to a kid goes from left to right depending on the kind of activity inside. The flexibility of modules by sliding into each other and their changing size both in height and length will give the kids the opportunity to decide and play with their own room. What is more, these sliding modules will help the the space to be shared and used interchangeably by child and parents. In this way parents will show respect to their children's decision. The adjacent wet module to the child's modules will create this opportunity for the mother to have a close eye on her child while working in the kitchen. Out side the house children will feel cheerful and proud by pointing out their pet and plant modules to each other. Parents would encourage thier kids by helping them to take care of plants and animals.

Alessandro mendini :
This project is really attractive, because it makes the house looks outstandingly charming in a beauty sense of view.
(Only the quick glance at the front of the house leads us to think as if it had all be furnished.)
It enables the interior to be developmental as well.
Such structure that function(operation) is added by fresh circumstance(space) and color(imagination) may be evaluated to provide the life with satisfaction, which must be very positive conditions.

Seok-Chul Kim :
The title of the 5th competition this year was "The Creative Child Room for One Child Family", and this work is the design that such title was understood at best and expressed optimally.
A good housing design shall be such that the harmony of parts and whole of a house continues without incessantly maintaining a good unified order organically together with the architecture, the interior and the furniture. In principle, the beauty of architecture becomes affluent with the interior design and completed by furniture.
This work is a rare and long-waited superior work that a excellent harmony of architecture, the interior and the furniture is achieved. A common service area was put in the center and at left side of it is placed a kid's room and at right side the area of the parents and thus far whole area has been divided into two. At the side of the kid's room, such a flexible furniture that may be changed freely in structure is placed and such furniture has been organized to be able to be used not only as a practical purpose but also as a changeable interior ornaments as well as a changing tool to the shape of the whole house. In such a way as these furniture modules are combined, separated and changed, the interior, furniture and architecture interact each other to achieve an extreme harmony as if a flower bloomed.
Thanks to the aforementioned, a beautiful circular ring has been made extending from furniture to the interior, and from the interior to architecture. In such space, children can play in a creative way of their own by changing the environment selected different daily, and the title of this DBEW, "Creative Kid's Room", was expressed here the best of all.

Weiyu Wang :
This design work looks a bit modern, and the space was taken into consideration for manipulation of kid's room. This has rather pioneering aspect in it in view of standardization, industrialization and normalization trends of the architect at the moment. Various and many type of rooms can be manipulated in this design, and so it is possible to manipulate space selectively to push such rooms into a house and the demands for the kid space may be satisfied in various types of houses. Though this concept is ahead of current trend, to be composed of a part of modern dwelling architecture, the overall harmony is recommended to be reflected on the architecture.
