Bio of Don Chadwick

Studied furniture design at UCLA
Worked in the architectural offices of Victor Gruen & Associates.
Established own design office in 1964.
Designed a modular seating system in partnership with Herman Miller.
Designed the Equa seating systemĄ¯ based on earlier Ergon chairs
Created the Aeron chair, which uses a breathable polyester mesh for the seat and back.
Aeron chair chosen as the Design of the Decade by the Industrial Design Society of America and Business Week magazine.

2. Design concept

1) chair conforms to the body of any child in the first to sixth grade.

¨į Height adjustable

2) The chair is more important for children than the computer.

¨į Poor posture leads to permanent spinal misalignment. Correct alignment of bone structure in children is especially important during childhood when their bones are growing and developing very fast.
¨č In this regard, smartly-designed chairs are far more important for growing children than adult executives.

3) This chair allows for relaxed and comfortable sitting even for hours at a time.
