Deadline for submissions

 

October 07, 2005, Friday 6:00PM (Korea time)
- By mail: The entry must arrive at the Competition Committee Office by Friday
  6:00PM on October 07, 2005.
- Online: The submission must be completed and given a Confirmation Code by
  Friday 6:00PM on October 07, 2005.

General rules

1. Your work can be submitted only once, either by post or on-line.
    ¡Ø Submissions via E-mail are NOT allowed.

2. All entrants should register for DBEW International Design Competition's membership
    through the competition website. If applying as a group, every member also must
    register for the membership to be eligible to enter the competition as a group.

3. Entrants may select one or more items from all items of Category AI, F, or S.


4. There cannot be any IDs or names which identify the entrant appearing in front of the work.

5. The entries will be displayed on panels for judging.
    (¡ØDo not mount the print-out with any backing. Panels for all entries will be produced
    at the competition committee office in exactly the same formats)

6. Every entry must be registered along with an application. An application form can be filled
    in only via on-line after logging in the Competiton website. In case of entering more than
    one entry, each application for each entry should be created.

7. <DRAWINGS & IMAGES> presentations
    a. The number of presentations for <DRAWINGS & IMAGES> is limited to five of A3 size
        (width 420 x length 297mm) per entry.
    b. All works should be written in English with Arabic numerals and be measured in
        meters.
    c. A computer file should not exceed 2MB, and DWG (*.dwg), JPEG (*.jpg), GIF(*.gif)
        or PDF(*.pdf), or ZIP (*.zip) compressed from any one of the three formats can be
        accepted.
    d. Consider that DWG (*.dwg) files will be printed in black and white.

8. <REPORTS> presentations
    a. <REPORTS> presentations must be either DOC(*.doc) or TXT(*.txt).
    b. The DESIGN REPORT should be written as follows:
        1) A DESIGN REPORT should be in English and not more than 800 words.
        2) Contents a DESIGN REPORT should include:
            ¨ç Current status and problem analysis of object of design through examination of
                residential culture.
            ¨è Solutions for problems regarding engineering and marketing.
            ¨é Concept of design.


Submissions by post or direct delivery
 

1. Submit safely the A3 size print-outs (papers) only.
    (* Do not mount the print-out with any backing. Panels for all entries will be produced
    at the competition office in the exactly same formats)

2. Maximum of 5 print-outs can be submitted.

3. Submission of CDs
    a. A CD in which data files of all the presentations for an entry are stored must be
        enclosed along with the print-outs.
        (¡Ø The Competition Office will not take responsibilities for any possible disadvantages
        incurred to entrants who do not submit the CD.)
    b. Data files stored in the CD should be made as described in 'GENERAL RULES'.

4. Once completing an application form for an entry on-line, the entry is preliminaril registered
    and is given a registration code. Print out 'ENTRY LABELS' in which the registration code
    automatically appears and paste each label on the back of every printout and the front of
    the CD. (Entrants can download the 'ENTRY LABELS' after completing an application
    form.)

Online submissions
 
1. A computer file should not exceed 2MB.

2. Maximum of 5 files can be submitted.

3. Entrants should consider that each file submitted on-line will be paneled in the A3-size.

4. Because the network traffic heavily increases on the closing date of submissions, we
    strongly recommend entrants to submit their entries before the due date or the last minute
    of the day in order to prevent any unexpected problems.

5. All online submissions may be done with MS Explorer 5.0 or above. Users of Netscape or
    any other web browsers must set or upgrade to MS Explorer 5.0 or the higher versions
    (*Can be downloaded from the competition website)
