Site work
is generally of greatest expense in dense urban environments.
For this reason the units proposed in this design are
crafted in a controlled factory environment. Site work
is limited to a spine or trunk structure where as many
of the parts as feasible are also constructed off site.
The individual units are then "hung" on this
structure and the utility and communications connections
made. This assembly approach allows structures to be
rapidly made, thus lowering costs. Variations on the
scheme presented here could easily be made allowing
an assembly of these units to develop a "texture"
which would furthermore add interest and the sense of
individuality to the whole. This method of construction
will allow the highest level of craftsmanship in controlled
environments where quality assuredness will further
the longevity of the final assembly.
